Church of Noone
There has always been a macabre appeal to rescinding one’s identity, phasing into a crowd, and abandoning the notion of being an individual. Every group has pillars and beliefs that make up their identity. Followers of the Dead God believe that divinity forms the foundation of evil, Dimeans believe that it is their divine right to conquer the lawless and the sinful in order to create a perfect world. The Church of Noone, or the nobodies, take the notion of collective belief and dial it to the extreme. Once a new member dawns the cloak they are “guided”(some call it "indoctrinated) into becoming a faceless nobody. The very first thing they must learn is to totally abandon their individuality, their name becomes “Noone”, they disown their family and heritage, and they learn to speak for the collective exclusively.
Ask any nobody any question and they will offer the same answer, they serve only as their rank and exist as nothing else. One’s race, gender, history is all washed away, leaving only Noone in its place. Most cities that the church operate in view them quite positively, they often volunteer themselves to do much of the undesirable work as they work for less than any labor force in the known world. Since they live entirely for the collective, nobodies live on the bare essentials and are willing to work nearly nonstop. This has made the church extremely wealthy, what is done with this wealth remains undisclosed Much of the peasantry revile the church and will often burn down any churches they attempt to set up within more rural areas, keeping their talons out of the agriculture that these peasants rely on to survive. Scholars have pointed out the interesting loop that their presence within a city causes: They arrive causing labor prices to dive, causing many of the formerly working class to become desperate enough to join, which further lowers labor cost and creates even more poor peasants.
